Is it profitable to fix my device?

Due to the fact that we are a repair service only we do not have a market overview about prices and devices.
Especially for older devices there is a decision to make if the costs and the benefit of a reparation a proportional.
Very often there are many facts to decide for reparation:
- There are devices which are not manufactured no more and they do not have a replacement
- Pieces or sets which are coordinated with this device
- The quality of the device (e.g. mechanical pieces or processing)
- The device is a rarity
- You don’t want to incomporate with a new device
- A really important fact is also; ‘’good memories’’ und sentimentality
For sure there are even more facts that come to your mind … -
Are the devices insured on the way of dispatch?

Yes, all consignments and pick-ups which we arrange are generally insured. The amount of the damage has to be proved in the event of loss. Invoices or valuations are considered to be a proof. That also takes affect for rare or older devices. Therefore we can’t take the responsibility for devices without an invoice or a valuation. The general amount of insurance is 7.500,00 euro gross

Which power supplies are used for Peavey devices?

There are only 2 different power adapters:
a) 16,5V, AC, 1.2A with a 2-pole round pin ring type. Art. No: 00712044. Most current for effect devices, pedals, 19‘‘ devices.
b) 34V AC, 0.6A with a plug. It can be applied on compact mixer. (This adapter is not available anymore.)

What kind of different external power supplies are there?

There are 3 different categories on external power adapters:
1) Adapters which are sending different tensions. They are mostly provided with a special multipolar plug. The purchase of an original-power adapter is absolutely wise!
For the following power adapter it is possible to use surrogate power adapter. But important is the mentioned operating voltage, which is stated in volt (V), this should be identical with the original power adapter as possible. Both sorts of power adapter may provide more power without a problem. The connected device does only admit the needed power. But in the other case, if the power adapter provides less power than it should, the connected device won’t work. The power is mentioned by ampere = ‘’A’’ or milliampere = ‘’mA’’…..1000 mA = 1.0 A.
2) AC- voltage (alternating voltage) power adapter.
These power adapter provide an alternating voltage; the power supply connector has no polarity, this means that you don’t have to pay attention on other values than the right plug, the spend voltage (V) and the maximum power release (mA / A)
3) DC- voltage (direct current) power adapter
These power adapters provide a direct current voltage.
It is important to pay attention not only on the correct form of the power supply plug as also on the polarity.
If you activate a device with the wrong polarity it comes to an error and oftentimes the power adapter destroys! Shall it happen that you search for a surrogate power adapter but don’t know which one is the right one, please do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail (perhaps with a picture of the plug and the info print) we will offer you a keen alternative.

Which payment conditions are excepted at PMS electronics GmbH?

At the moment we accept a direct debit authority within Europe, the payment via credit card and C.O.D.
For shipments to foreign countries we accept the payment via credit card and C.O.D.

Which payment conditions are available?

Via C.O.D., credit card or direct debit authority (within Europe).
We are a service company and in normal case there is a good deal of the employee’s wages included.
Additional it involves small and minimal amounts frequently by which an arrears billing would exceed the costs multiply.
National constitutions (schools, communities, universities, churches etc.), broadcasting institutions and large concerns may receive consignments on demand, without deduction of discount.

Is there a guarantee that I get back my device at a certain time?

Unfortunately we can’t give you a guarantee because our supplier and also our forwarder can’t give out such guarantees either. But we will do our best to observe your specifications as agreed.

How long does a reparation take?

As long as all necessary spare parts and documents are available you can be sure to receive back the repaired device respectively the cost estimate within 10 working days but we can’t guarantee it because sometimes there are arising unforeseen circumstances while repairing.

Which forwarder does PMS work with?

Normally we are working together with DHL, UPS, TNT and Dachser.

How much is the hourly rate at PMS electronics GmbH?

It’s not implicitly deciding how high the hourly rate will be but rather how quickly we are able to repair and how high the total costs will be. Due to our workstations which are full fitted computer braced and a quick access on manufacturer-specific documents we are able to reduce the times of repair in most cases rapidly. At the moment the hourly rate for reparations is 65.00 euro (incl. TAX)whereas 70% of our reparations have a cost less than 119.00 euro (incl.TAX).
